Chile: Senator Praises Shen Yun

Attending the last show of Shen Yun Performing Arts in Chile’s capital was Mr. Jaime Naranjo, a respected Chilean politician and former vice-president of the Chilean Senate.

[Jaime Naranjo, Chilean Senator]:
„Fantastic, I thought it was very lovely — the colors, the dances, the artists’ facial expressions… because not only should we pay attention to the choreography, to the music, but also the faces of the artists who bring life to the show. It’s very important to see their facial expressions.”

Mr. Naranjo has received great acclaim for his work promoting human rights around the world and was former President of the Chilean Senate’s Human Rights Commission.

He feels more people should know of the current human rights violations in China.

„I feel these type of shows are important not only for appreciating past traditions, but also to link with what is happening nowadays in China. So that people may realize the harsh circumstances many people face in China, since there is no freedom of expression or a democratic system as we have in our country. Therefore it’s important that many more people find out what is happening in China.“
