New York: Shen Yun Delights Crowds in Purchase

Shen Yun delighted crowds at Purchase College Performing Arts Center in New York on Sunday.

Audience members were impressed by the traditional Chinese culture and spiritual values in the Chinese Spectacular.

[Kelly Burns, Painter]:
“Enlightening. It’s new. It’s informative and it will make me think after the show… Human values and deeper stuff. Not just like a showy performance. This goes beyond that.”

Many audience members described feeling a state of goodwill and hope after seeing the show.

[Cora Christie, Banker]:
“Everything in that show enhances the human nature, value, community, spirit, and well-being. So I think we take away a lot from that show.”

[Ken Ronan, Accountant]:
“It just makes you really think about things. About life and what’s to come next and so forth.“

[Suzanne Randolph, Washington University Event Planner]:
“Learning the truth about life. And good triumphs over bad. I learned a lot of things. It was a really enlightening message.”

Other audience were impressed with the rich portrayal of Chinese history.

[Mara Mills, SUNY Performing Arts Professor]:
“It is like an education in itself. So I took notes so I can tell my students.”

Next Shen Yun is headed to Birmingham, Alabama and from there the Opera House at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. at the end of the month.
