Deadly 80-Car Pile up in Germany

A deadly pile up in Germany.

At least five people are dead and dozens injured after a massive pile up on the A19 highway near the Baltic Sea coast.

Early reports spoke of a dust storm causing the massive crash. Later, witnesses spoke of a quote „black wall of sand“ blocking visibility.

Eighty vehicles were involved in the incident.

One motorist could not quite remember what happened.

„I have never seen anything like it before and it’s difficult to describe. I think I will only later realize what happened. I think this is my second birthday today.“

The A19 is one of the major highways leading to the Baltic Sea coast, a popular weekend destination for residents from Berlin and further south.

There is no speed limit on parts of many of Germany’s roadways.
